NSW: Ambos revive woman after silent call for help
SYDNEY, April 4 AAP - An elderly woman on the NSW north coast who made a silent emergencycall for help shortly before having a heart attack was revived by paramedics.
An ambulance spokeswoman said the 70-year-old woman called triple 0 about 8.30am (AEST)yesterday and operations centre staff could hear movement.
But despite numerous attempts, no voice contact could be made with the woman.
Using the service's caller line identification system, the woman was traced and anambulance was sent to her home in Tuncurry, arriving within seven minutes of the call.
Officers eventually gained access through the rear of the woman's house, where theyfound her complaining of severe chest pain.
Soon after she went into cardiac arrest but officers were able to restart her heart.
She was taken to Manning Base Hospital in a critical condition.
