Howard to snub Gerry Adams

Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams was today granted a federal government meeting in Australia
next month, despite being snubbed by Prime Minister John Howard.

Foreign Minister Alexander Downer announced he was prepared to hold talks with the Irish
republican leader, who arrives for a five-city visit on February 15.
